Terms of Service

The rules for using DocZap

Last updated July 2026. Plain-language terms for a free, browser-based tool.

Agreement to terms

By using DocZap (“the site,” “the service”), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with any part of them, please don't use the site. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after a change means you accept the updated version.

What DocZap is

DocZap provides free tools for working with PDF and image files — merging, splitting, compressing, converting, signing, and similar operations. Most tools run entirely in your browser; a small number (PDF to Word and Word to PDF, as described on our Privacy Policy page) briefly send your file to a conversion service we operate. No account or signup is required to use any tool.

Acceptable use

You agree to use DocZap only for lawful purposes. You won't use the site to process files you don't have the right to handle, to infringe on anyone's intellectual property or privacy, or to attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the site or its infrastructure.

Your files and content

You retain all rights to any file you process with DocZap. Since almost all processing happens locally in your browser, we never take possession of, or claim any rights to, the contents of your files. You're solely responsible for the files you choose to process and for having the legal right to do so.

Service “as is”

DocZap is provided free of charge, on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee that any tool will be error-free, uninterrupted, or produce a specific result for your particular file. You're responsible for keeping your own backup of any original file before processing it.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DocZap and its operators aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, including loss of data or files. Because processing happens in your own browser, most failure modes are local to your device and session.

Third-party advertising

DocZap may display ads served by third-party providers, including Google AdSense. These providers may use cookies and similar technologies to serve relevant ads; see our Privacy Policy for details and opt-out information.

Changes to the service

We may add, change, or remove tools and features at any time without notice. We may also suspend or discontinue the service, in whole or in part, at our discretion.
